Transformer platform windfarm DanTysk:
In the coming weeks, the transformer platform for the wind farm DanTysk will be placed. Mid-August, the engineers of Minks begin installation of pipes for the fire extinguishing water. Through a special construction, designed by Minks, the water pumps will be installed on GRE pipes. These GRE pipes will be installed one by one and mounted on the fire suppression system, the pumps will end up 36 meters below the sea platform . In total there will be three composite pipelines installed.
The DanTysk wind farm is composed of 80 (3.6MW) turbines, with a total production capacity of 288MW. The Offshore Substation (OSS) is responsible for receiving the voltage from the wind turbines at 33kV level, and converting it to 155kV level for transmission to the SylWin HVDC station, for further transport to the main land electricity grid.
Once fully commissioned and connected to the grid, DanTysk will be able to supply enough energy for 500,000 households in Germany. DanTysk is located 70 kilometres west of the German island of Sylt, in the North Sea.
